Lifestyle: Think about whether you want a little extra space for a garden and animals, a lakefront retreat, or somewhere to store your toys, boat and RV.
Access to amenities: Look at the distance from your homesite to your workplace and area amenities, like grocery stores, restaurants and hospitals.
Proximity to other houses: Do you desire complete privacy or would you like a close community feel?
School district: If you have kids, you may want to keep them in their current school system or make sure that open enrollment is an option.
Floor plan: Decide if a rambler or 2-story floor plan works best for your family.
